Radical Rigs

Hey here is a great catfish rig that I use in the Ohio river every year. You take 3 or 4 egg weights put it on the line, ( I use 10 pound but it is up to you ) you take a steel liter, ( I use a 25 pound liter but it is up to you ). Then you take a catfish hook, ( Your choice use one that you feel confident in ) and hook it to the steel liter. There you go hope you catch some fish with the rig. ( A good bait is chicken livers. If you dont have those worms work to. ) Catch some fish.

Catfish Rig
First you take some egg weights ( 2 would be good ) and put them on your main line. Then you take a barrel swivel and tie it on your main line using the improved clinch knot. Then you take 40lb test ( 8 to 10 inches long ) and tie that onto the other end of the barrel swivel also using the improved clinch knot ( This is like the liter ). Then you take a 1/0 to 2/0 circle hook and you tie that onto your 40 pound test also using the improved clinch knot. The recommended bait is chicken liver catfish bait sold at walmart ( but any other typical catfish bait will work to). Hope you catch some fish. -D

Floating Rig
You will need a small barrel swivel and a hook.First, take about 3 inches off of your main line for a leader line. Then tie one end of your leader line to one end of the barrel swivel. Then tie the other end of the barrel swivel to the main  line. Finally, tie the hook (preferably a light wire worm hook), only allowing about a 1' leader for the leader line. This rig is used mostly for light worms (that float) worms and floating plastic artificial baits. -D

Carolina Rig

For the Carolina Rig you'll need line (on the reel), a barrel swivel, about 6 inches of leader line, a weight, glass or brass bead or rattle chamber, and a hook.
First, take your leader line and tie one end of it to one end of the barrel swivel and then put it aside for a little bit. Then, take your main line from your reel and first put on the weight (usually anywhere from a 1/2 oz. up to a l oz. bullet or egg sinker). Next, after the weight is on your main line, follow it with a rattle (rattle chamber, glass or brass bead) and then tie the end of the main line to the other end of the barrel swivel that you put aside. After you tie it to the swivel, tie your hook at the other end of the leader line giving you a 2' to a 4' leader. Now, you are ready to put the bait on. Hope you catch some fish. -D

Texas Rig
It's a simple rig to set up.To rig a Texas Rig you need just line, hook and a sinker. First, put your sinker (usually a bullet sinker) onto the line with the smaller point of the weight going on first. Then, tie your hook (usually a offset worm hook) to the end of the line after you put on the weight. Now you're ready for your plastic baits. You can fish the Texas rig anywhere you want. hope you catch some fish. -D

Carp/Catfish rig
Have anything from 8-14lb. line this is your personal preference. Take about a 6/8 ounce weight and tie to bottom. Then use the Palomar to tie 2 hooks (size is up to you) to the side about 6 inches from weight and make sure each hook is about 6 inches away from each other. then about 4 inches above the hook put a small bobber. Then cast out and your ready to go! After 7 minutes of fishing I had a nice 2 foot carp on my line. -Q
